14-Point Recap

Deftones - Change (In the House of Flies) - Almost my 11 in the nu metal rate. I definitely considered something from Deftones, but from the same album Knife Party is actually my favorite song, so it would've been that. As I explained when I hosted that rate, Deftones was one of the first bands I was ever obsessed with and my first username for everything online was deftones341 because I met one of the my first girlfriends and connected with her through our shared love of the band and the 341 was "I love you" backwards in the numbers of letters per word and it was about her and the band we loved. Pretty cheesy I know, but just goes to show how big they were to me back then.
Michelle Branch - Everywhere - Seems to be everyone's favorite song from her trio of big hits, but is my least favorite and still a 10.
Sugababes - Hole In The Head - Probably the most instantly catchy song I ever heard by Sugababes.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Me and My Imagination - Just everyone mentioning we need a Nelly Furtado rate everytime her name is mentioned, everytime a Sophie bop gets mentioned I say we need a re-rate.
Taylor Swift - Teardrops On My Guitar - A middle of the pack song from her underrated debut, because it's probably one of my favorite albums by her.
Ke$ha - Tik Tok - At the time, I always wanted so many of her other songs from her to be in the same spotlight that Tik Tok was in, but now that I have some distance from that era, I'm content with it being a part of the highlight reel from that time period.
Nelly Furtado - Turn Off The Light - When is the Nelly Furtado rate happening?
Róisín Murphy - Overpowered - Heard this recently in a rate and was surprised that I've come around to it.
Goldfrapp - Strict Machine - Never gotten into her fully as a discography, as alot of her other stuff is a bit too left-field for me, but this album was loaded with bops galore.

Most surprised by the exit

Sugababes - Hole In The Head
Ke$ha - Tik Tok
Róisín Murphy - Overpowered

15-Point Recap

Spiller feat. Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Groovejet (If This Ain't Love) - Alot of my Sophie all-time favorites aren't part of the fan favorites except this one.
Kylie Minogue - In My Arms - I almost had Red Blooded Woman, but this is up there too.
Atomic Kitten - Whole Again - I'm not sure if I should be surprised it's gone, I know they aren't the most beloved girl group on the forum but I feel like is the one everyone agrees on loving.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Heads Will Roll - A nice re-discovery in the Indie Rock/Pop rate.
Billie Piper - Day & Night - One of the best song from the turn-of-the-century pop sound.

Most surprised to see exit

Tori Amos - A Sorta Fairytale
Miley Cyrus - The Climb
Billie Piper - Day & Night

RUNAWAY COMMENTARY:
I was introduced to this song by a friend on Tumblr in 2007 and instantly fell in love with Sufjan’s voice and quickly acquired and devoured everything he had ever released at the time, and the obsession continues to this day. Thank you so much Kevin, and my life is so much fuller with the music of Sufjan Stevens in it. That damn banjo changed my life.

FASTER KILL PUSSYCAT | PAUL OAKENFOLD FEAT. BRITTANY MURPHY

Voted By: @4Roses
Year: 2006
Country of Origin: England feat. USA

4Roses Commentary:
Brittany's husky tone over Oakenfold's rowdy, soaring production–a perfect combination. 16 years later and not one ounce of sheen lost. RIP Brittany.

Now that's what I call a 1-2 punch! Wheewww.
