No special backstory this time. I immediately grew an attachment to this album track the first time I've listened to its parent album, and it remains my favorite Jimmy Eat World song since. It's dark and brooding in a way their mid-tempos and ballads usually aren't. There's a tension to the entire song, and the vocals help maintain it with their edge. I love how big it sounds even with only minimal instrumentation at first. The way it builds up to the ending chant is just grandiose. The "ooohs ooohs" are so singalongy too, and when it ends with the piano playing that same melody, it's the cherry on top. Such a clever songwriting choice.

I can't believe it wasn't picked to soundtrack a 00s teen movie or series, even though it can also be said for so many songs from them. It just has *that* feel.

While Goldfrapp never really disappoint, I had to go with Lovely Head as my top choice for them. I have a soft spot for music that creates very vivid imagery and there’s something extremely eerie and unsettling about Lovely Head that sets it apart from your typical dream-pop track. The combination of the whistling, the theremin-esque synth, the cinematic vibe and moody vocals makes for a rather ominous listening experience.
I’ve seen comparisons to James Bond themes, but this could really only work for a Tarantino-directed Bond with lots of blood, slaughtering and creepy plot twists.
Did Goldfrapp ever top this? Hard to say with such a variety of different sounds that somehow all worked for them (tracks like Tiptoe, A&E and Ocean could all put up a fight), but it’s definitely top tier.

Ooph, classics left and right, classics everywhere!

Cosmic Love is something but it's Rabbit Heart that made me obsessed with Florence in the first place, so my vote had to go there, hope u understand!

And I'm really gonna need to listen to Chrysalis/Désirs contraires one of these days cause all I've been hearing so far from Anggun & this album has been great!
