I loved Holly's second album, it sounded futuristic enough I actually felt like I was living in the 21st century heading towards the 2020s....as opposed to these days, where I feel like I'm living in a really shitty tribute to the 80s(Thatcher cosplay politicians and strikes) and 00s (fashion coming round again).

I only got into Katy Perry because in 2007 the PJ front page had a snippet of "Hot N Cold" which I played thinking that I really want to hear Max Martin's next massive banger. Then I listen to the album and hear this.
I love ballad Katy. Even "Into Me You See" was enjoyable when I saw her sing it live on the Witness tour.

I have been going back and forth over my final place in the line-up. I have written commentary for at least three different songs thinking they would take the spot. There was so much of Kylie I could have included from the 00s; bigger hits and poppier songs. This is the one that stands out the most to me. Both in her discography and from the decade. We were used to Kylie letting us have it with first singles as the decade began but no one was expecting this. I was so disappointed with it when I first heard it. Expecting something bright and upbeat. What we actually got was subdued, sensual hypnotic splendour. I just didn’t realise it at the time. She defied all expectations and took something brave and unique to the top of the charts surfing on waves of good will, charisma, and an extraordinary video.
