FEEL GOOD INC. | GORILLAZ

You can always count on @Ironheade to bring a taste of real music into the proceedings. Every song on their list feels like a miniature odyssey in its own right. From my side, thanks for making me bop to All My Friends and Idioteque! The Top 2 of Hurt & Hey Ya! is certainly to be reckoned with (don't ask me what I've been singing wailing while working remote for the last two days...................................

..........ok, it was the chorus of Hey Ya!

LA TORTURA | SHAKIRA FEAT. ALEJANDRO SANZ

Voted By: @Maria (14) @Aester (13) @saviodxl (6)
Year: 2005
Country of Origin: Colombia feat. Spain
Appearance: 3rd

saviodxl commentary:
The non-english domination wave that was surfed by the likes of Enrique Iglesias and Luis Fonsi in the following decade started here and I won't accept another analysis! She went full dramatic latina suffering for love and we just have to bop along. I think it was the first ever song in Spanish performed at the MTV VMAs or something.

SONG 4 MUTYA (OUT OF CONTROL) | GROOVE ARMADA FEAT. MUTYA BUENA

Voted By: @Island (13) @Runawaywithme (12) @2014 (5) @beyoncésweave (4)
Year: 2007
Country of Origin: England

Runawaywithme Commentary:
I like to play this song whenever I need to get my game face on. Mutya’s voice is one of my absolute favourites in the world and she sounds truly majestic here - I love how she sings it like you’re one of her pals meeting up with her for a pint and a good old bitch about her ex and his new girl.

@Ironheade ’s list is flawless (as expected) and he was also my fellow Hoppipolla voter! Looks like I completely missed Portishead getting eliminated, brilliant choice.

Also, very much enjoying the fact that there are so many surprises in this top 100 rather than just the usual suspects. I never would have predicted acts like Radiohead/Outkast/Gorillaz to make it this far.
I also feared the worst for Annie after losing songs like my Rachel Stevens pick quite early on, but it looks like she’s doing very well!

Plenty of rediscoveries too, I completely forgot about Digital Love (which is a brilliant song).
