The one thing I love about Spy is that while Melissa McCarthy does have some funny moments, she lets all of her fellow cast members shine - Rose Byrne, Jason Statham, Miranda Hart - and get some of the film's bigger laughs, while Melissa doesn't always have to be the one to get the funny bits or gags in the film. I think that's why the film works so well.

YAAAAASSSS. I was gutted when I couldn't find a stream for this movie cause I remember loving it but I was worried it might not hold up... but clearly, it did!

So many great movies getting listed at the moment: Life of Brian, Little Miss Sunshine (watched first time this year), Three Billboards. Prayers For Bobby was listed earlier, that's a really emotional film for me.
I really need to see Tomorrowland, its been on my watch list for ages.

Pleasantly surprised to see 5 of my bottom 10 got other votes! Sad to see The Sweetest Thing go already (it's my go to "silly" movie when I'm feeling a bit down, and Christina Applegate absolutely steals the movie for me), and I honestly believe The Intern is one of the warmest films Anne Hathaway has ever done. It isn't game changing but I just love it.
Lots of films here I haven't seen either so can't wait to watch as many as possible!

The Purple Rose of Cairo is absolutely one of my favourite movies ever but I felt.....uncomfortable about the idea of putting a Woody Allen movie on my list. It lives in a very different box of films for me now, along with Radio Days.
The Night of the Hunter fucking slaps though, as does Juno. Rose Byrne in Spy is probably on my list of the best performances of the 10s.

I find it interesting that both Saturday Night Fever and Fame - which both feature Barry Miller - are so well known for their soundtracks and upbeat music, but the films are rather grim and downbeat overall.
