This was one on my list that I thought may have received other votes. I love dark humour, Ruth Gordon is amazing, her best role along with Rosemary's Baby.

It's funny, it's quirky, and it is very sad. But an amazing film about living life to its fullest.

I find it quite a queer film as well, it is about an unconventional romance and the screenplay writer Colin Higgins was gay and set up the Colin Higgins Foundation in 1986 to provide support for gay and transgender youth. Before he developed Harold and Maude into the film we know today, initially he considered writing it as a gay romance movie. He also directed the films 9 To 5 and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.

11 | @livefrommelbs (7th Movie) - 10th place goes to 10 Things I Hate About You, which sits alongside Mean Girls as one of the best teen movies of all time. Infinitely re-watchable, genuinely heartwarming, complimented by a kickass soundtrack and Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger's crazy chemistry? It just works gangbusters on so many levels, and has always been a fave.

2 | @DJHazey (11th Movie) - This was a huge discovery for me. Much like ABBA, this movie series and musicals like this in general were something I never really paid attention to for most of my life (which has changed now and I've since been to a half dozen musicals, including two Broadway shows). My parents were huge ABBA fans, my Dad has always had the GOLD album on cassette or CD in his car since I can remember. They were thrilled when the discography rate on this forum finally got me to dive into their music (after being a longtime fan of the bubblegum covers by A*Teens and getting them hooked on a few of those too). Then they asked whether I had ever seen this movie, of course I hadn't, so they said I needed to immediately. I was swept away completely. The fact that my all-time favorite ABBA song "Honey Honey" is done so early on is a moment that will always stay with me too. Amanda Seyfried is <3 <3 <3, Meryl is always fire on screen and it's fun to see playing the role she did here and her music scenes are *chef's kiss* -- I don't get when I see many longtime ABBA fan sneer at this movie, okay maybe I understand it, but even if I had been one of them, I never let that kind of stuff prevent me from fully enjoying the experience. We went on to see the sequel in the theater, which was honestly one of my favorite experiences in a movie theater. Everyone was 1000% there for it, "you could feel the excitement in the air" never had a more real application.

@Hazey's Mom (8th Movie) - I think the genres listed on IMDB kind of tell the story here, while the Harry Potter franchise is unquestionably my Mom's all-time favorite film series, she leans more towards the Fantasy feel of the early ones and less towards the darker-themed films as it moves along. Now don't get me wrong, she still loves every one (minus Deathly Hallows Part 1 which she will always call boring and instantly re-lives the moment she walked out of the theater cursing how they left it and that she'd have to wait a full year to complete the story...if you ever bring it up to her), but there's no doubt that when we are focusing on Hogwarts, schooling life, Hogwarts Express, the talking paintings, Harry's home life, Quidditch, Moaning Myrtle, the Sorting Hat, the mysteriousness of Snape, the more innocent rivalry between Harry and Draco, Hagrid's adventures, etc. etc. etc. -- this is the world my Mom wants to visit and get lost in. Yes, more innocent and probably to a lot of you -- more cheese -- but to my Mom it's everything.
