STYLE | TAYLOR SWIFT
"And I got that good girl faith and a tight little skirt"

Voted By: @Someboy (19) @Ugly Beauty (19) @Seventeen Days (18) @aux (15) @Reboot (13) @ufint (13) @GimmeWork (8) @Laurence (8) @nikkysan (8) @eccentricsimply (2)
Release Date: October 27, 2014
Country of Origin: United States

Artist Appearance: 14th

Commentary
@Reboot: A very good pop song.

@Laurence: Her best song. Yup..

@aux: The catchiest fucking song in the world. The guitar riff, the chorus, the bridge. Miss Swift took us to pop heaven and back with this.

@Ugly Beauty: My favorite Taylor song hands down, the subtle 80s synth, the chorus, the Take Me Home section near the end, I just wanna drive a car so I can blast this on the highway at night or something.

My queen made top 10! Not in my top Taylor songs, but that says more about the strength of her discography than anything else, because Style is absolutely a brilliant pop song and I'm really glad to see it here.

EVERYTHING IS EMBARRASSING | SKY FERREIRA
"I've been hating everything, everything that could have been"

Voted By: @roborovsky (20) @Kyle. (17) @2014 (14) @aux (13) @japanbonustrack (13) @Robsolete (12) @Hurricane Drunk (10) @Petty Mayonnaise (10) @KingBruno (9) @K94 (5)
Release Date: October 16, 2012
Country of Origin: United States

Artist Appearance: 5th

Commentary
@KingBruno: With successful forays as both model and actress, it nearly seemed like Sky Ferreira had dismissed her artistic career to that of part-time. “Everything Is Embarrassing”, the gloomy dance-pop single produced by indie darlings Ariel Rechtshaid and Dev Hynes, granted her a new level of integrity as a pop singer. The song speaks about a cracked relationship, and Sky’s distant vocals wonderfully capture the feeling of the embarrassment and dejection that comes with it.

@roborovsky: This song is just so perfect..

@2014: What a moment this remains. Sky's vocals, the instrumental, everything is breathtaking right here and it remains just as timeless now as it did when it first premiered.

@aux: This track defined 2013 for me (as did much of her only album), and although this track isn't on Night Time, My Time, it is linked to that album so much, as I just hammered the shit of out both. Sky, please come back, I miss you.

WORK FROM HOME (FEAT. TY DOLLA $IGN) | FIFTH HARMONY
"And I don't need no explanation, 'cause baby, you're the boss at home"

Voted By: @Laurence (13) @WowWowWowWow (10) @Solenciennes (9) @livefrommelbs (8) @junkos (7) @Kyle. (4)
Release Date: February 26, 2016
Country of Origin: United States

Artist Appearance (Fifth Harmony): 4th
Artist Appearance (Ty Dolla $ign): 3rd

Commentary
@livefrommelbs: The 2010s brought us a whole myriad of great pop songs built around the idea of 'work' - and this one was definitely at the top of the pile. It took the best bits of 00s R'n'B-pop (the likes of Ciara, Cassie, etc.), gave them a fresh twist, and proceeded to snatch my wig clean off my head and refuse to give it back. 5H definitely burned bright and fast, but Work From Home showed us all that for a hot minute they were the best girlband in the world.

@Laurence: A+ solid bop. Iconic. I was able to the chorus choreo too I think. Well, Fifth Harmony was never that great to me but this song made me want to see them live, which I did.

@WowWowWowWow: So much better than it had any right to be, at least if you remember them singing Ellie Goulding at a tea party in front of Simon Cowell and Britney Spears. And then I saw the music video. Oh. My.

Just seen but this was my #14!

Although this has long since been eclipsed by August as my top Taylor track, it remains a powerhouse. One of the best-produced songs I've ever heard.

TEENAGE DREAM | KATY PERRY
"Before you met me I was alright, but things were kinda heavy; you brought me to life"

Release Date: July 23, 2010
Country of Origin: United States

Commentary
@aux: Pop perfection. This song makes me cry, there is this beautiful nostalgia and sadness exposed by the lyrics and vocals that just make this special for me. A hit that deserved all of its accolades and I'm glad to see it being remembered.
