So Level-5 is working on a "brand new RPG"

L5-Project_07-07-21-600x375.jpg

The artwork looks promising, I could see this being Ni No Kuni 3. Apparently the Ni No Kuni mobile game was a massive success in Asia, so I'd say there being a new title sometime in the future seems pretty likely.
This looks great! I need more Level 5 games in my life.

Saw rumors that the next GTA will indeed take place in Vice City, starting out as a slightly smaller-scale map but adding to it with expansions and that also it will be present day. I was hoping for a late 80's/early 90's time period. Apparently the rumors are from three separate sources with ties to Rockstar who didn't refute what the others said. Also, it will take a while as Rockstar is changing the way they do projects after all the exposure about how they overworked their employees in the past.

Also rumors are the next Assassin's Creed will use the same model. Starting out in one historical locale, but evolving it to another historical setting with each expansion release.

I saw rumors that the map would be evolving over time, not necessarily just expansions. I would say maybe they were thinking about seasons, but considering it's Miami ...

I mean, the Ballad of Gay Tony literally exists and they made him the coolest guy I've ever played as for a video game and not 'made fun of', you were running a gay club in NYC. Let's not do blanket statements please.

Yet there are plenty of moments in the GTA games where they have made fun of gay people. They are meanspirited and problematic and their satire very rarely rises above juvenile ugliness. I am comfortable with saying that.

One well written gay character doesn’t discount the normalisation of pretty shitty views and humour under the guise of ‘satire’.

As someone who played every GTA 100%, in most cases multiple times, I never got the sense any aspect of their brand of humor/satire was ever focused on more than any other. In some ways, a game series like Saints Row for example was worse with it but also really just 'extra' with everything. Yes, Rockstar can be pretty over the top with humor, but it's never been a situation where it felt anyone was being targeted with the humor in the way you're portraying it. That's just how I feel about it though, everyone can and will have their own view of it. It's just going to be hard for me to sit there and watch a game series that's been a pretty big part of my life be in my opinion unfairly dragged with blanket statements of the such is all. Without trying to throw in an argument or two.

Interesting, basically making a Genshin Impact-esque vibe with new regions/eras. Monetization is probably going to be insane.

It's sad how this is basically the future of gaming (or AAA gaming at least). Why even bother developing and releasing multiple titles when you can keep people playing the same thing (and spending money on microtransactions, season passes, etc) for years instead. At least some big companies like Sony and Nintendo haven't adhered to this business model yet.

I can’t see Sony or Nintendo ever going down that route. They’re carved themselves names as the place to go for single player games with incredible storytelling.

I do know that Sony do have some multiplayer games in the pipeline

I don’t know much about Deathloop but watching the gameplay, did Bethesda just reskin Dishonoured and call it a day?
I mean Arkane aren’t really a huge developer and have struggled with getting big hits in the past they likely don’t have the AAA budget of others (this may change of course). It looks to have a unique central mechanic and also acting as a spiritual successor to Dishonored now that story is finished

I've just finished Ghost of Tsushima. A great game once you get to grip with the combat and different stances. They could have introduced something new or a different kind of enemy when you get to the final region of the island to keep it fresh but it was still very fun.

The different outfits and huge hats are an absolute kii.

Thank god you get to kill your uncle at the end, what an asshole.

You can say your piece without trying to suppress the voices of people from communities that have very valid concerns, though.

My apologies, I know it can be difficult to speak an opinion that goes against the grain of concerns the LGBT community has, so I try my best to do so in a manor that doesn't offend anyone. If I did, I did it wrong and I'm sorry and will try to correct in the future.
