I tried out the new Saints Row character creator and I honestly find it very disappointing given their using it as their main selling point.

Is it really that hard to make an open world game with like Sims level customization? I guess it must be since no game has been able to achieve this.

What exactly do you think it's missing though? It definitely could do with more types of clothes/patterns, sure, but we'll get that in the full game.

It feels like a lot of clothing options are lacking but I figure that'll change when the game comes out. I also find it hard to make a decent looking face for a character that isn't a preset face. Though I managed to make a character that looked like Elektra, so I won a little bit.

I actually thought the clothing selection was fine. More so talking about the body and face customization. Like you can't really make a curvy body. No curly hair options. You can't really do much customization to the eyes after selecting from the presets. The eyebrows are all very light for some reason and don't match the hairs. All the body hair options come with chest hair or back hair, couldn't even give us a simple leg and arm hair option for us girlies dd. I don't know, to me these all seem like very basic things a character creator should have in 2022.

Yeah, I agree with your points. I hope they are able to adapt and such. Especially the eyebrows. They are all are so light. It looks like someone sprinkled some pepper on the character’s forehead.

I mean, more options would always be good, but I think what the game offers is already pretty fantastic. I don't think I'd ever played another game with a character creator that included stuff like vitiligo patterns, prosthetic limbs, so many skin options, including colour, complexion, body hair, tans and scars, the ability to make assimetrical faces, and even choose nipple size dd. And also the fact that you can use basically every colour imaginable for clothes/hair/make-up instead of being restricted to a palette. It's definitely better than, for example, The Sims 4 in a lot of ways. I could see them adding more stuff in the future/in the full game though. Clothes aside, more hairstyles especially would definitely be nice.

Facial customisation is definitely a lot more time consuming than it has been in previous games. Perhaps more frustrating too. It felt as though nothing was really changing while messing around with the sliders.

With clothing, my only real gripe is that when trying to make certain shirts or whatever white, they go light purple instead. I'm sure in Saints Row 3, there was a similar thing where certain items of clothing would go grey instead of white.

Oh for sure, I can appreciate the effort they've put in certain areas but I still feel like there are some glaring omissions. The fact that we still can't get curly hairstyles in 2022 is sad, and we should really be able to create any body type at this point.

I finished Tales of Zestiria last night and I was pleasantly surprised by the game as a whole. It’s mechanics are very nebulous and poorly explained but it’s a solid plot, although the ending could have used another scene or two. But it’s a minor niggle for me.

I’ve started Tales of Berseria and I’m already stanning Magilou. Queen of Being Extra!

It looks so fucking good omg

Starfield looks good. It's basically a mixture of Fallout and No Man's Sky though... the bit that killed my hype was the 1000 planets... I don't want it if it's just boring, generic and procedurally generated wasteland. I want it hand-crafted and detailed.
My thoughts exactly. Looks good, but the announcement that it's so many planets basically means that there might be one or two hand designed ones, and the rest will be procedurally generated boredom.
(Also unsure if I will like the gunplay without Fallout's VATS, but I'm open to see how it plays.)
