Video Games

My top 5 played games this year were:
1. Resident Evil: Village
2. Resident Evil 2
3. Beat Saber
4. Resident Evil Origins Collection
5. Resident Evil 4

This definitely makes sense to me looking back and I love that it shows how much RE has had a chokehold on me this year. And Beat Saber is just a really fun rhythm game I can't get enough of. I also found it interesting that I played 31 games this year, which is 17 more than last year - though I didn't get my PS4 until halfway through the year. I think it's really cool they do this. The stats are interesting.

Went back to Elden Ring and finally finished it. 146 hours. whew. a journey. The game really took me back to the wonder and excitement I felt as a child playing video games that I hadn't experienced in a long time. I balked at the git gud mentality of Souls stans but they were kinda right all along I fear. The sense of achievement when you finally overcome a challenge after countless attempts is unmatched.

My Final Fantasy (NES) party got TAIL (my mom always thought it was a euphemism for losing their virginity, queen) and grew up. Grinding out levels and getting everyone ProRings/level 7 spells before facing Kraken now, and it's seeming to get easier so that's nice.

This. Sometimes I would fight some boss for days until I defeated it. I actually went for all bosses, I had a map where I kept track so I don't miss someone, its more than 200 of them. The only time I asked for online help was against Malenia, at that point I was kind of tired of the game as I was playing it for months and I just wanted to finish it.

I do think the very last boss is kind of disappointing though, the way you have to constantly run towards him because he keeps going away from you, its a bit frustrating. It took me 256 hours to beat the game haha!

PS+ discounts being promoted everywhere (on the console, on the app, I literally just got an email about it too) but not actually working is a damn mess. When you try to actually subscribe you just get the regular prices. My subscription expired a few months ago and I thought I might as well go for a yearly Premium one now that it's on sale, but no luck. Apparently this is happening to tons of people too.

It's been brought to my attention I'll finally be able to play Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden in just a month
