Video Games

Some games are too straight though nn. CoD is an obvious one for me. I prefer other shooters. I feel like this is gonna piss some of you off but I'd add Uncharted. RDR2 is pretty straight too (in like a libertarian way), but I still enjoyed it.

GTA is camp, especially now.
Yeah, Uncharted is pretty straight. Not so much in the sexual orientation way. It's just such a mainstreamer type of franchise. It's also really boring, like the Ed Sheeran of gaming. I have no idea why people like its stale cookie cutter characters so much. Yes, the dialogue is nicely written and yes, the animation and voice acting is smooth. But the characters are still saying boring trite things and making boring trite jokes. The action is okay. Everything about the games works well, but the shooting is standard, the platforming is shallow, and the puzzles are also shallow. The set-pieces were impressive when Uncharted 2 came out but now every other game does that shit.

If a game is doing what movies are doing but worse, I'm not too interested. I want games doing what only games can do. This is why Metal Gear Solid, particularly 1-3, will always be much more compelling. It knows its a video game and leans into that while still serving cinematics and set-pieces.

Yeah, I think straight also carries other connotations. Uncharted has such a bro-y dude Chris Pratt vibe. And CoD is military propaganda nn.

Kinda like how horror as a genre is pretty queer, despite not necessarily having many queer characters.

I feel like Starfield will probably get pushed back to November to give it a little more time to bake and also still be in time for Holiday.

I may be very wrong but after Halo Infinite’s messy release schedule, I don’t think they’d have announced September if they weren’t very confident it could land in September.

Minecraft Legends in April.
Redfall in May.
Starfield in September.

I imagine Forza Motorsport will either have the November slot or be in July/August. Depends on the status of Hellblade 2 or Avowed which are apparently next priorities.

The character designs in Tekken have been iffy for a few years now, so none of this is really surprising me. But Nina deserves better. And I have no ides what they're going for with Paul.

I just hope that they don't do my good queen Jun dirty. Then Namco and I will have to have words.

So an Elden Ring expansion called “Shadow of the Erdtree” is on its way.

I have been playing a NG as an astrologist and damn, fuck Caelid nn. Those rot infested birds do get me every single time.

Also the maiden ash is bit of a kii. The way she jumps in front of the dragons to heal me gives mother.

Hello i just used the Comet Azur + Terra Magica + Ranni's Dark Moon combo on Mohg and melted him in one second dd.

Aw I'd like to think Uncharted dodged the hetty bro territory, if only because it feels like such a lovingly made throwback to Indiana Jones/other campy action films of that era? Naughty Dog get that vibe spot on for me.

Yeah when I think "straight games" Uncharted isn't really what comes to mind. Both because of the classic adventure vibe like you mentioned, and also because of the strong female characters.

The art design of this game is unspeakably ugly.
