Video Games

Did I just hear Digital Devil Saga praise? That duology needs a remaster yesterday. It's absolutely brilliant and I miss playing it. Also, the DDS2 normal battle theme pops off so hard.

Two of the best games in the franchise and sorely underrated!

My top 5

1 Persona 3FES+Portable (not including Reload)

2 DDS1+2 (shouldn’t play one without the other in my opinion!)

3 Strange Journey

4 Nocturne

5 Persona 5 Royal (and Raidou 2)

I'm playing as Rogue. I really like Neve so far.

and seeing Harding was amazing.

The combat feel pretty great so far. Weawing in and out from the battlefield, parrying and switching melee from ranged attacks feel so smooth.

I'm normally a mage user in these kinds of games, but Rogue looks so fun in this game. How similar is it to in Inquisition?

Ok i think i played enough to get the sense of things for now and i'm gonna say the game probably will fall for me somewhere between 7-8. It was obvious that Dragon Age wasn't that this bleak, Dark RPG the first two games were back in the Inquisition era, so the tonal shift from those times didn't surprise me because that was already established surely nn?

Other than that, the dialogues so far are a bit on the simpler side so far but it is definitely not the worst dialogue i have ever seen. I'm guessing (with the amount of exposition also) this is all for the people whose first game will be this so they can have easier time to understand and place things, events and/or characters of the universe. So i'm hoping things will pick up even more.

Companions are ... exactly what they were in Inquisition dd? Once again, i saw this game being like this coming so i don't know how people are acting brand new when Bioware ditched the C-RPG elements and serious, dark RPG themes right after... the first game? Granted i would prefer to have that over what this game brings, but also like let's be real, this is what the franchise is at the moment and they have done good to great things so far, and Veilguard is playing along fine so far with Inquisiton.

I also honestly appreciate the trimming to the open world and to the endless fetch quests in Inquisiton. The map so far is gorgeous, and i covered enough ground to feel satisfied about the exploration. I even saw some posts on glorifying Hinterlands which we all remember surely, right?

Some nitpicks i guess

That Harding cutscene was so unserious dd

"Don't worry brother, i will replace the dagger with..... ....RED LYRIUM." dd All that was missing was the "DUNDUNDUN" music

If anybody here likes adventure games, I have to recommend Road 96. It's a bit Life is Strange goes roguelike. Fascinating story to unravel, and it manages to be both cozy and creepy at the same time.
Thanks for recommendation, it looks interesting and I might buy it now thats on discount. Have you played Road 96: Mile 0, its apparently a prequel?

Me too! I love open worlds and can‘t stand God of War style maps but that‘s the only thing about it I don‘t like so far!

I often times imagine having my memories of playing the Persona games taken away, especially 5 Royal, so I could experience them brand new all over again. Good thing this game (Metaphor) will give me a similar rush.

It will. It's structured the same but the setting and themes are so fresh that it does have a feeling of novelty despite the numerous similarities.

Do any of you girls have restock tea on the 30th anniversary PS5 stuff? Not the Pro, just the slim and controllers. How limited are these actually?

Is the first Alan Wake good? I've read great reviews about the second one and I know I have to play the first chapter to get the full story but I fear it might be a bit meh to play considering it's such an old game, so I don't know if I should just watch a recap on Youtube.

Yes! It's a fun game, certainly dated, but it's a great atmospheric title. It's pretty short.

The original is a bit convoluted but it's got great atmosphere. Small foggy town near the mountains mmm yes!! I even kind of liked the DLC (spin-off? sequel?) despite it tonally deviating from the original because the fast pace shooting was fun. That, and I remember it being even a bit subversive at points, character-wise

I did not have a fun time with it so I didn’t finish but I’m intrigued about the sequel so I’m gonna try it again.
