Oh no I've gotten into Genshin Impact now it's on Xbox ddd

Oh maybe i should open the Genshin / HSR thread

Seriously though aside from Welkin Moon and the rare Battle Pass, don't spend anything on top ups. Don't spend anything on the weapon banner as a F2P as it still remains a scam and don't convert your primogems into blue fates (wishes for standard banners).

Other than all this, i think it remains a great game and time sink as you can easily clear 95% of the content with anyone and any team you like. Leave us an update once you do Fontaine cause it is the peak of Genshin.

Any I’ve played a couple hours and I forgot how stunning the game looks? And the fact you can customise your outfit individually as well as the whole thing is a nice touch.
Also rediscovered the fact you can go all Poirot and solve murders! I have barely done any of the main quests because the side stuff is so fun.
That is the first thing that came to mind, how great it looks. I never played it when it first came out and I didn't know what to expect considering the mixed reviews but I really liked it. The only thing that frustrated me is that I entered the DLC early by accident and I had to sneak around to leave the place, they should have written a warning.

I loved Syndicate even more though, its a great game!

Ah thank you! I ended up with like 10+ characters just by normal play/earned currency so I feel pretty well stocked. Plus they are giving Game Pass Ultimate bonuses with updates so that should help.

Fontaine is the one I'm most hyped for! Though the step up even just from Monstadt so far has felt really impressive

Yeah Syndicate is an awesome game too. I love the twins and how each of them plays differently.

Yeah, brother is a brute while sister is more sophisticated. I like their dynamic in the story as well, they often disagree and have different views but they love each other. The DLC with Jack The Ripper is also quite good, creepy at times when you saw his POV.

I beat Metaphor: ReFantazio at 70 hours. The last boss fight and all its phases was awful and cheap, but what an incredible game. It was deep, rich, and majestic. And the ending itself was lovely. I will write a review soon.

I've toyed with the idea of getting my own Switch after falling in love with my brother's Switch that I played every time I used to visit him, and he's saying that I might as well get one for myself pre-Christmas since there are sales on some games and accessories, but I'm seeing conflicting reports about the release of the next Switch. Do you suggest waiting just a few more months in case the next Switch (Switch 2?) comes out soon? Or should I just bite the bullet and get the current Switch iteration right now?

To those that have played AC3, how long before you get to play as Connor? I've heard he is a great protagonist and just downloaded the remaster of 3.

It doesn't take very long if I recall correctly, after the first handful of sequences. Also I'm not sure where you read that but he's actually quite a boring protagonist if I recall correctly, Ezio, Edward or even Haythan are much more interesting characters. Also I love how you're seemingly playing every game in the series at the same time ddd

Ah, maybe people mistook hot for interesting. I do love Edward though, he might be my favourite main player.

I have a habit of overplaying a game and then getting bored so I am dotting between 3, Black Flag, Rogue and Unity right now dd. It makes things a bit confusing because the controls are different but I am avoiding getting bored.
I have Syndicate downloaded and the Ezio collection in my library somewhere too.

The next Switch is pretty much 100% coming next year. But of course it's bound to cost quite a bit more than what you'd pay for a Switch now. It's a question of whether you'd rather get something cheaper now and maybe get the Switch 2 further down the line or if you'd rather wait a bit and get the more expensive Switch 2 at launch. The Switch has an amazing library of games, so you'll have plenty to keep you entertained even if you stick with the current model for a while even after the new one is released.

I get that too but I generally do games in different genres dd, I don't think I've ever played two games in the same series at once let alone more than that. I'd recommend playing the Desmond saga in order if you can by the way (I, II, Brotherhood, Revelations and III), the real world narrative of those games is really good and one of my favourite things about the series.

I do it all the time. Done it with Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy before.
Is the first one the only game with Altair as the main assassin? I know Ezio is in three but not sure on Altair.

Yes the first one is Altair, then the Ezio trilogy, then Connor. Those first few games (I, II and Brotherhood especially) had such a great sense of mystery, the various bits and pieces you came across really got you wondering what exactly was going on with Assassins, the Templars and everything, both in the past and in the present. Sadly that's something that's mostly been lost as the series went on.

Yeah I do have to admit the newer games kind of lack in the whole "Assassin v Templar" aspect, even though I do enjoy them (Odyssey is my all time fave game). They feel like a series of separate games.
In the older games you had a real connection between the various characters. Edward being the father or Haytham who is in turn the father of Connor. Shay training with Haytham, formally working with and eventually killing Adewale who served with Edward and also crippling Achilles who was a mentor to Connor. And Shay being the one who killed Arno's father in Unity. It's really well done.

Genshin Impact got 100s of my dollars... Oops. I realized it was becoming a problem though so I stopped playing. It's a fun game though and I love the characters and the world. It's just very hard to not want to spend money in gacha games... for me.
