This year I bought 40 records, spending an eye-watering £1292. This comes to approx £32 per record

But... I made almost £200 selling 8 records. Thrifty x

To compare with 2023, I spent over £1.4k on 58 records, at about £25 each

2025 I hope to buy even less!!

16 Vinyls this year (Tinashe is still pending) and made £431 by selling 14 x vinyls.

Last year, I got 22 vinyls.

So getting better!

So far this year I've bought 28 records. 18 of those were bought second hand on the cheap. I'm waiting to see what's going into my work's January sale, but I haven't felt very compelled to buy anything. Just...languidly apathetic when it comes to being a capitalistic culture vulture this year I guess.

So my Wicked picture disc actually has a scratch on one of the discs and they offered me a replacement or a refund, and I’m torn which is the better offer?? It’s right at the start of A Sentimental Man on Side D (a song I don’t care for).

Do you still want it now that you have it in person? Does it play well? If so, get a replacement and if not, get a refund.

I mean, that’s the dilemma. It’s a picture disc so it’s not the best sounding record I have, some pops and cracks here and there, but it’s beautiful and not cheap. It also happens on a song I don’t care for right at the start, so can skip it. The Target version is also sold out.

See if they have any in stock for a replacement. If not, then just keep it since it's on a song you don't care for, and you seem to like it visually.

26 albums & 20 singles = 46 items. Three of the albums were gifts from friends which I'm grateful for! (Body Language/Tension II/Shawn colour vinyl).

There's quite a few other albums/singles I would have liked to buy this year, but believe it or not I've tried my best to cut down. I succeeded to an extent... I bought 48 albums and 13 singles in 2023 = 61 items.

I worked out my total expenditure: £957. £686 on the 23 albums I bought, and £271 is singles. The amount spent on singles somehow feels worse to me!

^ Almost all the other singles were between £10 to £17 each, but the two Dua singles were less than £10 each.
