Vinyljustice 2.0

What are your recommendations for solid mid-tier turntables? I've resigned myself that I probably should have one to play the vinyls I do have (even if I don't plan on becoming a full-on vinylhead) and was looking at getting one of the Audio Technica LP120, but I now realize that might be going a little overboard.
Another recommendation for the AT LP120 here. I realise it's not cheap but I wouldn't call it overkill if you value speed stability, correct pitch and playback without skipping. It's also upgradeable and a direct drive, so no belts that stretch and need replaced every few years. Personally, I wouldn't want anything less.

I was “collecting” and not playing my records for about 18 months before deciding to get a turntable. It’s infinitely more exciting and worthwhile to actually play the items you’re collecting
I was about 6 months. Finally got a (cheap) turntable; GUTS is the only vinyl I’ve actually listened to, ha.

My turntable is currently broken, so waiting until I can afford a proper bit of kit. I have so many to listen to.

I have the RT83 from Fluance and it has been great, I think their entire fleet is pretty well reviewed.

The ATLP120 is always a good shout (though I’m more of a Pro-Ject fan)

With most vinyl costing £30 these days, for the cost of 8-10 LPs on your shelf you can bag yourself a pretty solid table.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Might end up sticking with the LP120 after all.

@Mr.Arroz when you mention replacing the cartridge, do you mean from use, or from the get-go for something better?

From use, simply because I had had it for so long. I was never playing records nonstop but the sheer amount of time that I've owned I thought it better to just replace it.

Audio-Technica AT-LP120XUSB
Rega Planar 1+
Pro-ject T1 Evo (BT)
u-turn Orbit Plus (+ built-in phono) - if North America

Slight update to the previous (longer) posts I've made on the subject. You're looking at the £250-350-ish mark for those as their base model.

Is the built-in phono on the u-turn good?

I also have LP120 since 2018, playing almost every day with no issues. My only, big "turnoff" is that there is no auto return feature and for most records you need to get up and do it yourself.

I don't own this turntable (I've got a Pro-ject), but I haven't seen any complaints either. In-built is also convenient, and vinyl & turntables are already fiddley enough. You can turn it off and bypass it if you want to upgrade in the future, but I think for mid-tier the Orbit Plus is a strong candidate. There's the Orbit Special above that, but it's another 40% mark-up. >£600 is outside of mid-tier, at least for me.

Ironically, I'm in the market for an external preamp myself. Time to do some homework.
