I only just discovered Do Me a Favour. Listened to the first 30 seconds of the verse and was like 'meh, what is this mediocre nonsense' and was just about to switch it off when the chorus hit. Phew!

Yep yep yep a hidden gem I’m scared will be overlooked. All the Alt girls need to listen when they come up for air from Kelela & Caroline. Honestly sort of works with them in the overarching theme and connected sound. I need more space and time with it but immediate standout was Wedding Cake Shop and the run after Flicker Flicker to the end. I love a narrative back half

I don't know if it's due to STRFKR being so heavily involved or what, but this album really brings me back to the early 2010s, and I mean that as a compliment - it's a specific kind of gauzy, mildly detached synthpop, different from what was on her debut, that reminds me of a time when SPIN still had print issues and was a good publication ddd and would throw in a bunch of free downloads from artists like Neon Indian and STRFKR themselves.

It's funny how the "indie" pop from that time, which was rooted in 80s nostalgia, is in itself a nostalgic reference point now.

Yeah, it almost feels like it's taken some of what Lana was doing on Born to Die and elevated it with a dash of Marilyn Monroe.

This is definitely an album that will be slept on by a lot of people but probably because it's been released during a time where a lot of other bigger albums have come out. Hopefully more people discover it.

I adore her voice with Rufus Wainwright's.

Different from the first record, I need some more time for it to sink in, but wow at the on-the-nose Italo Disco of "Garden of Allah". "Main Character" with Rufus is also a massive highlight.
