Disney+ is losing money because of how much it is spending, not because of a lack of audience.

But it needs a lot more ‘audience’ to break even. Its operating costs that don’t even include programming are bloated. So I imagine they will follow the HBO route and start purging in the near future.

I think Chapek was canned because of too much spending so they will definitely need to cut back. The streaming bubble is definitely popping.
 
Disney will never purge content. What WB are doing right now is a desperation because they’re bleeding money, and it’s severely damaging to the relationship with its talent. Disney has pockets deep enough that they’ll never need to resort to pulling content to flog to Netflix. They’ll simply reduce spending on their output, and still have an absolutely huge catalogue of movies and series after the Fox acquisition to remain viable.
