Whitney Houston

New unreleased song from the soundtrack and I'm loving it. This is so sensual, it wouldn't sound out of place on I'm Your Baby Tonight. It reminds me of the b-side Feels So Good

So thrilled we got this out of the film. I loved this era for her, and the track fits right on I'm Your Baby Tonight.

Are there any other era-specific unreleased tracks on this soundtrack?

The film looks like it's going to be car crash but I've actually really been enjoying the soundtrack? I like how beefy the tracklisting is and from the new remixes to obscure and (genuinely really enjoyable) unreleased tracks like Moment of Truth and Far Enough, I've been getting a lot of use out of it.

The aforementioned Moto Blanco and SG Lewis mixes are probably my favorite but one unexpected highlight has been this afrobeat remix of It's Not Right. It's probably not the sort of thing most of Whitney's fanbase would be into but I feel like it really works and further highlights how flexible Darkchild's original composition was.

Sorry If this already posted,
I wanna dance with somebody 4K is so... different.

Theres still a couple of scenes where the “special effects” look worse than ever. Around 3:45 and 3:53 for example. I would prefer they removed them.

Then again, when they did that with the Roxette Joyride video and re-edited bits that couldn’t be improved, I found myself feeling cheated of original scenes.

Yeah it's a bit of a no-win situation. With Steps' recent remasters some bits were completely reanimated and it kinda annoyed me, but here it does not look right either and I was like 'you couldn't have just drawn a bunch of dancing shoes... or left them out?'

Have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the movie. It immediately addresses the fact that Whitney was massively in love with Robyn, how toxic her family was on that aspect and how that was the beginning of Whitney sacrificing who she was in favor of what other people expected her to be. Her dad and mom really come across as awful.

Also happy that they used Whitney’s actual vocals for the most part. Really good decision.

My main gripe with the movie would have to be that it feels very by the numbers and that it spans 29 years. You never really have the time to delve deeper into certain parts of her life and they feel a bit rushed.

Still enjoyed it overall though.
