This. It's an incredibly stupid idea to do 2 movies.

But that's the only place they can end it. Can you imagine the riot if they end part 1 without even getting to Defying Gravity? But they equally can't carry on after that in part 1, as they'll leave nothing for part 2. There's absolutely no reason at all this should be 2 movies. None. Given that it can lull a little bit, it actually makes even more sense to condense it into a 2 hour movie and make sure it zips along at a nice pace.

I suspect they’ll milk Ariana and Jonathan as much as they can in the second movie. Fiyero is a bit of a nothing role, and I can’t see them wasting Jonathan. They better hope they have nailed the two new original songs for padding though because Thank Goodness, No Good Deed, For Good and some sort of Defying Gravity reprise won’t cut it.
