I do really hope he hurries up with the new material. By the time he gets this out the synth/80's sound he is supposedly playing with will be well out of fashion.

I agree that it's time he released some new material. I wasn't much of a Will Young fan until I was dragged along to one of his arena shows and was left awestruck by how good he was live. Not only was he outstanding vocally but the choreography was equally stunning. My perception of him has never been the same since.

Album is due for an May/June release. He also has a single with Shapeshifters due out soon called Crazy.

He's a pretty good actor...but he's a better popstar. He needs to put more attitude into his music and stop with all this coffee table soul. I'm constantly hearing he's a complete nightmare diva to work with...why doesn't he put some of that sass into his recording???

Now that would be something! History is superb, definitely one of the best songs of 2010. Imagine how amazing a whole album in that style would be!
I liked Will's previous albums, but that sound is getting a bit stale. His songs are starting to sound a bit samey.

Olly has sold just under 500,000 albums - in Will's hayday he sold more. Will Young's albums sell very well mostly. Will sells now that he is not 'the in thing' equal to what Olly sells when he is the in thing, what does that say?

Sorry but Olly is no where near the league of Will - could Olly pull off 'Ain't No Sunshine' like Young did - NO, he would do 'She's The One' which he did on X Factor and it's laughable. Will's talented, original and his 6th album as always will be a corker. Although i do like some of the Olly songs, they aren't in the same league.

I'm a little bit worried. I know that he still has a fanbase, but in the current climate it's very difficult for established artists to reach people outside their fanbase if they're no longer hyped up to the max. See also Maroon 5, Dido, Scissor Sisters.
However, the fact that his Greatest Hits did so well is a good sign, hopefully.

I really hope that Fred Falke is involved in some capacity - his remixes of Tell Me The Worst and Grace are absolutely beautiful.

When they were planning the reunion back in 2006, there was a crazy rumour that Will Young was brought in as Robbie's replacement.
Then it turned out that Jason was reluctant and they seriously considered replacing him with Shayne Ward. No jokes!
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to new music from Will. I love his voice!
