X Factor 2010

I'm hoping they ditch this year's audition format. Did it really add much to the show, or get them a better group of finalists than if they'd stuck to the old format? I really do feel that certain members of this year's final 12 wouldn't even have made it to boot camp if they hadn't had backing music and an audience at their audition.

Jedward. Grr.

John and Edward are the best thing to come out of this dead horse of a tv show.

They should just audition people forever and ever and never do the live shows.

The auditions are seriously the worst part of the show for me. This year's just came across as bullying when bad contestants were on. Just knowing that three rounds of producers had said 'yes' only for them to embarrass themselves in front of that huge crowd makes me feel incredibly uneasy.

I wish they'd ditch the crowds at the auditions as it completely ruined them for me, but sadly the ratings were so high that it's unlikely. Leave the crowds for Britain's Got Talent, I want to see the judges trying not to laugh in a quiet little room again.

The problem with the format (well, the main problem) was that there was no sense of progression for the acts. They start off singing infront of a crowd, they end up singing infront of a crowd.

And the "live" format also completely erases some people from the competetion, someone voices are amazing but cannot fill an entire showroom.

Definitely ditch the audience during auditions. I prefer the atmosphere in the small audition rooms. I never understood the point of having an audience during auditions.

They should also change the format in another way. Perhaps bring in a 5th judge and have groups split into girls groups/boy bands?

There's already rumours they're bringing in a fifth judge. I wouldn't mind that, but I think that the number of categories should be reduced. Males, females and groups. Then give each judge one act from every group, with 15 in the finals. Would be much more interesting, and nobody would end up with the duffers category (the groups).

Did the audience pay for their tickets at the auditions? I imagined they did and that's why it was introduced to bring in extra revenue for ITV and Syco and Talkback Thames and Simon Cowell.

I wish they'd stop fucking about with the panel. Only replace one of them if it'll mean Sharon coming back, otherwise just LEAVE IT ALONE. It's taken me until this year to actually like Dannii and I still miss Sharon to this day. I don't think I could cope with any new judges AND shitty auditions with an audience all at once.

Good luck to everyone who's applying by the way!
