X Factor forum

It has been suggested that there should be an X Factor forum and that is quite a good idea.

I think the best way for it to work will be for all X chat to be in here, and once an act releases something they can have a thread in the normal forum. So 'Joe McElderry - The Climb' could have been started last Christmas in the Pop & Justice forum, but all Joe chat until then would have been in the X Factor forum.

I am sure you get the idea.

Apologies if i look like an egomaniac, for starting a lot of threads. Once they're up and running i'll step back.

This is great thank you! It's so much easier to follow. (Cough* Now can we have one for K-pop please... Cough*)

Ooh and we can have threads on every live show where we can chat/commentate and everythang!

Not to be a pedant, I'm just trying to wrap my head around how to use this forum - does that mean Joe's performance of "Ambitions" (or Cheryl's of "Promise This" or any performance by X artist on the live show) would be discussed in this subforum, in the live show thread? Or in that artist's general discussion?

Not to make a mountain out of a molehill, I can just see multiple parallel discussions going at the same time.

I would have thought that the X Factor 2010 thread would have been moved from On The Telly to in here. Then people could discuss the live shows in that or, as JadeFan suggested, have on thread per live show and keep general midweek chit-chat in the X Factor 2010 thread.

As for Joe, Cheryl and the like, I imagine, as always, it'll be discussed in the X Factor threads at the time but the bulk of the discussion will take place in the respective artists' threads once the show is over and the performances hit YouTube.

I think most importantly The X Factor 2010 should be moved into this subforum first and foremost.

Cool, well I imagine people will keep gabbing about the general goings-on in the world of X Factor in that. I still think it's a good idea to have a thread per live show at the weekends, which will keep the live blog-style posts all in one place.

Have you even looked at the thread its already there.
Yes, I know, chill! I didn't notice the X Factor 2010 thread had been moved because, as JadeFan said, it's fallen to the bottom of the page. And I can see that there's a 'live show 1' thread but that doesn't mean that people will use it in the way I (merely) suggested. Wowx4 asked a valid question, I was just answering it and thinking 'aloud' if you will.

Sorry didn't mean it to sound harsh!
I think it'll sort itself out once the live shows get going. Specific act gossip can be kept to each thread and hopefully comments about the week in question will be posted in the relevant thread.

Sorry, I should have thought about using artists that weren't X Factor related as examples... so there's the chance that people could be talking about (f.e.) Lady Gaga's live performance in the Live Show #whatever thread, the Lady Gaga general discussion, the thread for that single, the thread for the album... observations in Random Thoughts that someone wanted to share... etc etc. You get the idea. I know that we often have multiple parallel discussions happening but I thought it would be nice to have some clarity.

Like I said, if Lady GaGa is performing on the Sunday night show between 8 and 9 o'clock, the bulk of comments about her performance will most likely be in the X Factor thread/subforum as it's happening and perhaps for a little while afterwards. By later on that night and especially the next day, I imagine discussion will have naturally migrated to the GaGa general discussion thread. That's how these things geneally tend to work out on here.
