X Factor US

One thing: If they go with Britney then they should fill the remaining seat with another man. I can't imagine them convincing another woman as famous as Britney to do it, so you either find someone with absolutely no ego or go in a different direction like Eminem.

Christina Aguilera gets $10million a year for a season of The Voice (or will do, whatever)! Fair enough.

Did she quit or was she pushed due to the car crash? I haven't heard from her since. I love some Mo-ta-da-e-ta-da Moesha.

Brandy was supposed to return for the 2nd season of the show, but chose to quit due to all of the stress of the car accident (which she wasn't completely responsible for). Now that she has a new album coming out soon, it's crazy to think what her career would have been like, had she stayed on America's Got Talent.

Simon clearly saw something special in her to be a judge before, so it would be great if he considered her for the X Factor.

I don't know if the public even cares about Britney anymore much less to be worth what she allegedly wants which is 20 million.

The pay rate for a tv judge is getting ridiculous.

Britney shouldn't do it, she will die in that role and be slaughtered. Unless she wants to use it as an opportunity to take back some power for herself, and be HER OWN person. I shudder at the thought of her critiquing: "cool" and "awesome" spring to mind. And I LOVE Britney, but no.

After watching Mary J mentor on American Idol, I think she'd be a great addition. Her and Natalie Maines.

There is no way she will get anything like $20 million. As Simon said recently, the entire budget is $100 million. You can't have a fifth of your budget go on one person. Everyone is forgetting that they have another female judge to find the money even if they do pay over the odds for Britney.

Wendy should be a judge. What the show needs to do is take someone who isn't a household name and let them loose to become a star. Give us something new, a reason to turn in, like watching Wendy actually critique the contestants, rather than plopping Britney into the seat for the sake of it.

God NO. Wendy being a judge would be as pointless as Ellen. Also, I don't think she would suit the audience/arena setting. She's much more 'fitting' on a studio né sound stage.

See Wendy can actually give criticism though and gladly runs her mouth. Ellen was NEVER a good choice, in fact thanks for bringing that up! Britney is going to be Ellen 2.0.

No wonder Simon has opened up the talent to previously signed singers.

There are two more singing talent shows coming in the summer, albeit with different premises. These shows list Kelly Clarkson, Gloria Estefan, and Lionel Richie among other celebrity mentors. The mentor list isn't complete. One of the shows is being produced by Queen Latifah.

The singing reality show bubble is gonna burst at any second. There's far too many coming out now!

I kinda wanna audition for this... the whole drama of it is strangely off-putting though.
Can you sing?

I'm not classically trained (but I've did take classes for about 2 years) but I do sing. Some of my music is linked in my signature. I realize my vocals aren't to everyone's taste, and I'm no vocal powerhouse with multiple octaves.

I think I'd audition just to have a chance to meet Britney without having to pay $50,000 or whatever to have an awkward meet and greet with her.

Oh, yeah, I see now.
