X Factor USA - Season 3

I get this feeling Tim is going to be in the contest for ages. He just seems so every man Middle America which they're going to eat up.

Who knows. Tonight it was all about Rion and Josh Levi FLAWLESS! Khaya was great too. The potential that I once saw in Carlito has now gone to Josh Levi. Such a shame, he will be gone tomorrow.

-Edit-

I think Simon is setting up Sweet Suspense to fail, hard. Third week in a row bad song choice. During their VT Girls Just Wanna Have Fun was playing in the background. HELLO!!

They aren't cutting the show short, they were suppose to eliminate someone last week and they often get rid of people in doubles towards the beginning because they start off the second week with a Top 12 (or Top 13 in this case) with either 8 or 9 weeks of lives.

Josh was the best performer of the night, hands down! He is such a star, and I know he's going to have a future in the music industry. Even though he performed an 80's song, he made his performance current:

Based on tonight's performances, I think Carlito, Tim and Sweet Suspense are all in jeopardy of going home tomorrow.

Why is Simon seem to want Sweet Suspense fail? Restless Road are great, but at this point no one knows who's really going to do well in the real world. At least he's choosing better songs for SS than 5H when they were still contestants. The girls are the most popular group in social media, but will it translate to votes?

Demi's "They're no Fifth Harmony" line was mean.

KHAYA AND A&S WERE PHENOMENAL.

I'm crushing on Carlito and his dad!

What was with the 80s make up, judges? It was absolutely revolting, especially on Demi (and I can say that).

Khaya was incredible and back up there again. I felt she really nailed her voice and performance when she did 'My Girl', and while she sounded great on 'Distant Dreamer', her performance sided struggled.

I agree on Restless Road, really good. What the hell were Sweet Suspense doing with what appeared to be biker men?! It was extremely odd. Carlito was pretty dreadful, but I actually feel sorry for Tim - I don't think he's doing anything bad, I just think he's constantly given the wrong direction.

Ellona and Lillie didn't hit their stride towards the end of the performances. This is the second year running that 'I Wanna Dance with Somebody' has had an extremely off instrumental. What a queen Ellona was for getting up and not letting her fall effect the performance though!!

I hate all this conspiracy stuff with X Factor, but why the hell did they make Alex and Sierra perform like that? They were at the end so I hope they're safe as they have so much potential - brilliant voices, they look great and have a genuine chemistry.

I didn't mind the 80s looks. Kelly looks fine, and Demi would look so much better if she changed her hair color from blue to brown.

The return of the real queen of The X Factor USA, ALLY BROOKE!

Not surprised Sweet Suspense are gone. They had no connection with any of their songs. I'm convinced Simon set them up or had no clue what to do with them. Despite Fifth Harmony sounding horrible tonight, they have that chemistry that Sweet Suspense lacks.

The bottom two was surprising but i'm glad Potter left. She had bad moments yesterday and today's sing-off. Khaya was flawless as usual.

I guess I should stop the Sweet Suspense stanning now. It'll be hard for them to get a record deal out of this.

The winner for tonight is Dinah's hair.

Hitori, you stan for every single girl group and your stanning for Sweet Suspense felt delusional.

Rachel Potter always seemed a bit cold, too much of a perfectionist and theatrical (not surprising given her background). I feel bad for Khaya, people seemed to dislike her for no reason at all. She's had some problems with her performance skills but I felt she actually delivered it all this week?

Here's an interesting video of X Factor fans discussing the judges, contestants and their performances last week.

I love this post, Kelly is such a sweet and caring person.

Kelly is sweet yet tough. I love her! Tonight she was no different. I love her constructive criticism and she was spot about Restless Road. I'm glad Demi called out Andrew of the group, he's harmonies where awful.

Tonight's episode:

Jeff: Amazing as always. Kelly really challenged him with that song but he did well.
Khaya: Didn't like the song choice. Incredibly safe.
Josh Levi: A star is born.
Tim: good safe vocal, horribly awkward on stage. Those "sexy" comments from the female judges made me vomit in my mouth. Just no.
Rion: Nice performance, I just wish it was just a bit more country.
Alex and Sierra: Nice comeback from last week. I hated the production. Those loud violins, why? Kelly was right, Alex tends to outshine Sierra at times but we forget she just started singing.
Lillie: Amazing!!
Ellona: Something was off. Not the best from her.
Carlito: A star is reborn. He finally got his mojo back!
Restless Road: I really wanted to like this performance but it was awful. Simon think it's slick covering their lack of harmonies with loud backing tracks. Not cool. Plus they are serious awkward on stage except for the lead singer.

Bottom for me: Tim, Restless Road, Elona and Khaya.

Jeff really was the best by a clear mile, that was incredible, especially given the track needed to be cut considerably given the length. The staging/production was great too, it really was his best performance.

I felt bored with Khaya, but I generally dislike that song. The same with Alex & Sierra, that song doesn't work for me. I think Ellona really got into it in the second half but that is a hard song to sing live on a show like X Factor, it's probably not suited to a singing contest.
