Realiti should win no?

@Petty Mayonnaise I know you're crazy busy, but when you get a chance can you update the results at the start of the thread, and maybe even include the album summaries for every artist who's been knocked out.

It's really nice to see how all the tracks within each album were ranked.

I've realizing how wrong I did Shura.....What Happened to Us has been hitting me so hard lately, as well as EVERY OTHER SONG. As much as I love Grimes, the final 3 really should have been What's It Gonna Be, The Blackest Day, and Mother Earth.

I will do as soon as I can. It would already be done but you can't copy specific post links mobile, and my loaner laptop just hates the forum in general, but yes it bugs me how far behind the front page is as well.

If you remember, I said before that there were only three songs that ever held the top spot throughout the entire voting period. This is the second one. Pretty early on, it became clear that the top 3 was probably going to remain Realiti, Flesh Without Blood, and Kill V Maim once they began to pull ahead of poor Banks. Since the score difference between #3 and #4 was so big, it became clear the only actual race was between which of these three songs would eventually win the whole shebang. You all decided that these three were in a league of their own, and you’re kind of correct (I wouldn’t personally put Realiti up here over a few of our recent departures, but that’s just me). As many of you said at the beginning of the rate, this was Claire’s to lose from the beginning, and while I always appreciate a bit of unpredictability (and #justiceforWhatsItGonnaBe), it’s hard to find fault with Ms. Boucher cleaning this up nice and tidy. Queen of music. As for Realiti, it’s a bop obviously, and really I don’t get what the fuss is over the demo version as opposed to the album version, but y’all do y’all. As the good sis @Daniel! recommended I’d say turn this into a drinking game every time someone mentions the demo, but it’s also only noon here, and truthfully I’m a bit hungover already. Let’s get it.

Synthtastical gem - ufint

The highlight of this album by far. Great production and her vocals go perfectly with this track. A perfect match. - GhettoPrincess

Demo or not I don’t care this song is perfect - send photo

Incredible song, far better than the demo (also amazing). Feels like soaring through a colorful fantasy land. This song is a journey stopping off at different lands on the way. Love the Alice Deejay 90’s euro house bleeps. -sfmartin

Another instant eye-catcher, with its pulsating beats and honest reflections. I'm also in love with that little synth that seems to trigger all of the important moments; it reminds me of the one used in many of my 00s eurodance favorites. It's tricky to find the real meaning behind the song, but one line comes to the surface with "every morning there are mountains to climb" and also "when I get up, this is what I see, welcome to reality." If Grimes is the narrator here, she is saying "this is my life and these are the challenges I face" which could have something to do with her career, yet the lyrics are flexible enough to be applied to love. Just the way she tells the story over that incredible beat had me captivated from day one. - DJHazey

I've just been totally sucked into this soundscape, this album is a rush. My one consistent criticism is that I'm not really paying all that much attention to the lyrical content but it's a backhanded compliment of sorts because I don't really mind, I'm utterly taken in by the music. This is true of much of the album, and particularly here on Realiti. - Solenciennes

What a great build up! And the climax doesnot disappoint. Love the 90's eurodance feel the instrumentation gives me. The music is put to the max. Let me add to this my work out playlist to. This is motivational like hell, because it makes me move! - Sprockrooster

Another one I've had since the album came out. At first this was my go to bop for like a week but my love for it has somewhat diminished since. I don't really know why...something about the melody in the chorus bothers me. But then that synth comes rippling through my speakers and all is (temporarily) forgiven. I really like the atmosphere it creates. Very neon, dreamlike...an Ecstasy fueled moment of whatever if you will. - Ferk

This just shimmers so wonderfully, and captures the sublime. I want to disappear into it. - Can’t Speak French

The original version can't be a demo, I don't buy it Claire. I won't accept anything but enthusiastic praise for the second and third coming of Jesus, of which one happens to work better as a standalone, the other as part of the album. One of the most vibrant songs in my life. - Kuhleezi

The song with the MONSTEROUS beat, MONSTEROUS prechorus, MONSTER chorus. It would make sense to make this epic dance song my 11, but like I mentioned on my Marina scores, I think you good sisses will do the good work for me. I love the original and album version of this song almost equally, which is actually quite shocking. She was somehow able to pull of solid 10 work from both sounds, without one taking away from the other. My favorite production bits in this song are the beeping synths that compliment various portions of the song, helping them stand out and be lodged in your brain. - digitalkaiser

Ooh, thank God I never got to listen to the first version because to me, this version is just divine. There's something super spooky about it. Probably because she's talking about reality and not, like, singing a song from the perspective of Sleeping Beauty's blanket or something. The outro is just orgasm in song form. - Slice of Life

This song has very low lows and very high highs. Sometimes it gets very boring to listen to it, but she does something with her voice or something in the beat changes and catches your attention for a while longer, but then it loses you completely. - eccentricsimply

If we were rating the demo version it would be a 10 no doubt. I'm sure I remember Grimes saying she deleted the master recording of the demo so had to recreate it from scratch and it honestly lost *something* in the process. - NecessaryVoodoo

God those quiet little oh oh oh oh ohs on the bridge just killed me. - ohnostalgia

I heard this in an Old Navy while Christmas shopping. I never thought she could do subdued. - AshleyKerwin

Really neat 90s vibe to this one. - Guy

Perfection again. I like it better than the original version, but that might have to do with me listening to this one first. I just love how she starts the verses and the beat behind her, it’s just so powerful for some reason. - He

I’m [Roxxxy Andrews and I’m] here to make it clear that the demo (A.K.A the original) is the superior version, although the album version is still an 8 (and the new outro is kinda incredible). I remember listening to this for the first time in a Costa Coffee in Brixton and I had to take myself into a toilet cubicle to process it. - constantino

Claire has always been the master of blending the cold, robotic nature of electronic music with her warm, full-heartedness passion and touch. Up until Realiti, all of her songs, even the iconic ones like Genesis and Oblivion, were sound of defeat. But starting from Realiti something has significantly changed. Now there is yearning. Yearning for life that is so eagerly waiting for her to grasp. The step she took here is a big one, as it works as a great bridge between pre/post Art Angels Claire. It's a strange mixture of those two. She's still very sad, but there's a spark igniting within her now. "When I get up this is what I see, welcome to reality". She doesn't turn around from the grim reality anymore. She doesn't just hide within her world. She accepts, acknowledges then invite us to live with her, to climb the mountains, through this harsh and not so young and beautiful reality. When the burst of guitar comes in at the last minute of song I always tear up a little bit. It's her masterpiece - diamond dogs

But honestly I didn't expect this song to do this well considering just how many people would go over demo version but I'm very proud. Queen.
