Yellowjackets (Showtime)

Yeah of all the violent moments on this show, Shauna beating Lottie up (and the shot of her swollen face) made me super uncomfortable.

I need the show to address Javi because what the fuck nn. I’m curious what happened with Crystal’s body too.

Speaking of which, before she got beaten to a pulp why did Lottie order Javi to not be in the room?
I would have thought that was just because he’s still quite a bit younger than the majority of the group so she didn’t want him to see (though the actor clearly has hit puberty dd)

Yeah, I think he's meant to be 14 but looks 25. Still feels like there is something off between them two.

I admit that while a lot has technically happened, the season did feel a little inconsequential. The present day storyline feels particularly inert.

Totally. Like i know things happened, but Season 1's episodes always ended with a cliff hanger that pushed the story forward and brought up new questions or dynamics unfolding. Whereas Season 2, its just like....teasing potential questions and answers (if that makes sense). Like I want to know a bit of what the fuck is going on in the woods already - something with the "spirit"

I think there's just no drama. Past storyline feels like they're stuck in the cabin or walking around in the snow, present storyline they're all apart without the tension of the blackmail plot. I enjoy the characters and the atmosphere so I'll keep watching but I agree that the forward momentum and edge of your seat moments are gone.

They just said "we need to survive" and literally the next scene they're pulling cards to execute and eat one of their friends. Literally like??? It was the first time the season completely lost me. I get that they were all delusional with hunger but still, it's a pretty big leap to take.

Don't get me started on Lottie casually bringing out the poisoned drinks like it's tea time.

I wonder if the episode count was cut from the standard ten to nine during actual filming of the back half of the shows? We are all of a sudden getting character dialogue doing a lot of heavy lifting, like it's a season 1 episode of Star Trek: Discovery.
