Your Favourite Sophomore Albums (that eclipsed their debut)?

Surely the ultimate sophomore album:

Is Christina's Stripped classed as her 2nd album? I guess not what with the Spanish record and her album before self-titled?
I wouldn't count the Spanish record or her Christmas album. I would count Stripped as her 2nd original album as the Spanish one had reworkings of her English language album and Christmas albums just should not count outside of that context surely. Stripped was fully original material.

Definitely Hormonally Yours. Impossible to top.

Anita Baker's Rapture.

Roxette's Look Sharp!, too.

Bananarama's self-titled album was a great improvement, Deep Sea Skiving as a whole was all over the place IMHO.

And although I wouldn't count All Over The Place as a bad album, The Bangles' Different Light had a stronger set of singles (although I prefer Everything myself).

Oh and if you count her live self-released album as her first, Oleta Adams' Circle of One should definitely be added to the list.

Whether or not you count Alanis Morrissette's pop albums, both her "second" albums are better than the first.
Now Is The Time >>> Alanis
Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie >>>>>>>> Jagged Little Pill

En Vogue - Funky Divas
Brandy - Never Say Never
Shola Ama - In Return (in terms of quality, not commercial success)
Destiny's Child - The Writing's On The Wall
Nick Lachey - What's Left Of Me
Will Young - Friday's Child
The Killers - Sam's Town (weaker singles but stronger album overall IMO)
Savage Garden - Affirmation

I know this a year old but I had a look at her Wikipedia page and it is counting Stripped as her fourth album!?! That’s ridiculous, I remember when it was released it it was called her second album and up until recently I have always seen it referred to as her second album. What a ridiculous way for stans to bloat an album count.
