Zayn - Room Under the Stairs

I need to listen to the whole thing but about 4-5 tracks in and this is actively bad in parts. His choice to just stack his vocal warblings over each other...jail. It's literally giving Honey Davenpot and Ra'Jah O'Hara in the Diva Worship episode of drag race fff. I will still claim that Mind of Mine is one of the best albums of 2010s and I'm an unapolagetic Icarus Falls and Nobody is Listening fan -- so this is dreadfully disappointing on first listen.

This was such a slog to get through whew. I couldn’t wait for it to be over. What I Am and False Starts were cute but I’ll happily never listen to the rest of it ever again. A massive disappointment after adoring his first two albums and some of the third one.

It's not a bad album. It's a new side from him that we're not used to. Here he shows his more English musical influences. It's a nice listen. His voice still is so beautiful and the best from 1D.
Some songs reminded me of The War On Drugs, others reminded me of Paolo Nutini.
But overall it was a nice listen and something different from him.

After waiting an hour and Banquet having no contact from management he’s cancelled the signing.

Very typical Zayn of him. Apparently they’re trying to reschedule for tomorrow morning. Annoyed that I travelled over an hour but more gutted for the girlies in the queue who are devastated because they came especially and have flights to catch.

Well that's crappy and not a good start to promo.

So I’ve just got the reschedule email and it’ll ‘supposedly’ happen at 10am tomorrow now. I have a birthday tonight so I don’t really feel like getting up at 8am if the same thing is gonna happen again, but also know it’s probably once in a lifetime…

i loved the album. the theme was cohesive and i enjoyed the way he was experimenting with his voice to give the effects of sounding drunk or having his face pressed against concrete. zach sang describe this as rnb-folk and i think that's the perfect way to label it.

oh he's INSANE for not putting these on the album. ignorance is bliss should've been a single! and i think i might prefer his demo over dave cobb's final version.

I can’t believe I’ve just set an alarm for 7:30am on a Sunday for this guy.

And this mid at best album
